Selection and use of dual power automatic transfer switch:
When the utility power and the generator power conversion, first of all, the particularity of the generator should be considered, after confirming the mains power failure, the generator will automatically start, and only after the indicators of the generator power supply reach a stable value: can it be output, and has an interconnection device. Select and use ATS by conversion time.
1. According to the requirements of relevant national and industry specifications, for the dual power conversion of fire fighting equipment, the faster the conversion time, the better, but considering the current power supply technical conditions in China, it is stipulated within 30s. When the fire fighting equipment is in operation, if there is a sudden power failure, it is bound to cause the conversion of the power supply, because the long conversion time will make the fire equipment stop running and affect the use, so it is necessary to add secondary control links to ensure that the fire equipment continues to work, so in the selection of ATS should give priority to the product with fast conversion time.
2. For emergency lighting, according to the current time practice designed in China, the power supply of the urban power grid is generally used as the emergency lighting power supply. In order to meet the needs of use and facilitate safety, it is allowed to use the city grid for power supply, but when ATS is used as emergency lighting, after the normal power supply is cut off, its power conversion time should meet: evacuation lighting ≤ 15s (shorten the conversion time when conditions permit), backup lighting ≤ 15s (financial commodity trading venues≤ 1.5s), safety lighting ≤ 0.5s.
3. When the generator set is used as the emergency lighting power source, the total time of the generator starting and conversion should not be greater than 15s. Selection and use of quadrupole ATS.
(1) According to the provisions of IEC465.1.5, the transfer switch between the normal power supply and the standby generator should be a four-pole switch.
(2) The dual power transfer switch with leakage protection should adopt a four-pole switch. When the two power switches are protected by leakage, the lower power transfer switch should use a four-pole switch.
(3) The power transfer switch between two different grounding systems should use a four-pole switch. (4) TN-S and TN-C-S systems generally do not require a four-pole switch. According to the above requirements, when selecting ATS, it should be determined whether to use quadrupole ATS according to the specific use functions and requirements.
